Skål International Louisville Scholarship
Skål International Louisville proudly created this scholarship to encourage students who are working toward a career in travel and tourism related fields.To that end, the scholarship funds are applied to tuition for the Associate of Science Degree in Tourism, Travel and Event Management, or the Hotel and Restaurant Management, or the Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management programs at the National Center for Hospitality Studies at Sullivan University. The applicants are required to have a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and enrolling in the Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management.
At least four whole quarters must have been completed prior to application. Applications are accepted at any time during a student's fifth or sixth quarters, and are reviewed quarterly by the scholarship coordinator and appropriate committee members. A written essay prepared by the applicant answering specific tourism related questions, along with two letters of recommendation from past or present employers and/or educational institution officials attesting to the applicant's proficiency, dedication, aptitude, character, and other attributes of interest. Applicants are chosen on the basis of cumulative grade point average, strength of the applicant's essay, strength of recommendation/support letters, and overall professionalism.
